How to get sky+ cheap

I see that sky+ subscription is £10, or free if you take £10 worth of premium channels !

Is it possible to buy a secondhand sky+ box, and then just use it (I assume not).

I know that dual/quad LNB is required, so you'ld need to get a 'dish man' as well.

But my real question is 'Is it possible to acquire all the bits cheap/used, and then sign up for just the subscription fee?'

You can get second-hand Sky+ boxes, but they're rare and fetch good prices. £199 for a box that is worth £399 is good value. The price is subsidised by the companies that operate the interactive services.

There's a V1 box for sale by 'Jackass' on the classifieds for £115 not a bad price although you can pick up a V2 box new from approx. £149 but can't remember where from.
