Question How to get hdmi sound from TV to Yamaha rx-v367?

I have a smart TV (sony x900h) and Yamaha rx-v367. I was wondering how to get sound to the Yamaha with HDMI from my TV (apps running on the TV)? I know I can do this with an optical cable but I will not be able to control sound and on/off of the receiver from my TV remote so I want to be via HDMI?

Your amps specs make noention of it supporting ARC and there's no sign of an ARC label on pictures of the unit I can find on Google. I don't think you have any other choice than using optical I'm afraid.

I'd look at upgrading the AVR, you wouldn't need to spend much second hand to achieve what you want.
