Thanks to some helpful advice on this forum I recently purchased a Sony DDW890 with 6.1 sound.

I am going to mount the speakers on the walls in the coming days and am unsure how best to do this.

I have attached a drawing of my room with possible speaker positions.

Any help is greatly appreciated

And advice at all? Even a link to another relevant thread or forum would be a great help?

Assuming that the main seating position is the black blob (in my attachments)

my first attachment is probably the best you could make of your current arrangment

number 2 would be better if possible though.

just make sure the rear centre isn't too close or it will overpower all the other speakers.

I read somewhere else on these forums that if there was a small space between the coach and the wall, you could place the rear speaker on the ground facing up, to prevent one speaker becoming too localised for the listener?

Option two is really do-able due to the setup and wiring of the room.
