    Hello - I'm building a WMC PC around a laptop (Compaq Evo to start with - then purchase more powerful one). I'm trying to find out if the graphics card is compatible with WMC 2005. When I check display properties in control panel all it says is 'Default Monitor' (other PC's I have access to give the name...). I've googled and can't find anything helpful.

    Is there a way to find out what the make/type of graphics card?

    Thanks in advance.

    you might already know how to do this;

    ctrl panel>system>hardware>device manager

    double click the entry marked display adapter. this should expand the tree to show the make/model of the graphics card.
