Looking for the best picture quality but how to connect?

Got the PW7 from 123 Electricals yesterday with the scart board. The Panny is fantastic, a big thank you to everyone who has wrote good things about this display and who convinced me to get one.

I've currently got a Sky+ Box, a MAC mini and a Panasonic E55 DVD recorder.
Have been looking at the JS tech VGA box for the sky+, looking at getting DVI board for the recorder or maybe using the scart, in which case using the DVI for the mac? Or the scart for sky+, DVI for DVD and the VGA input for the mac.

Any help in a better way would be of great help!!

Just a old basic Sony one, no special connections on it.
Will be looking at getting a new one in the future but a while off yet.

    DVi for mini mac
Component for DVD and run Sky into E55 and then onto componet on screen (JS RGB>VGA or RGB>YUV will look better tho)

PS yes this does mean the scart board is unused and potentialluse less
but without spending any money you can do as i guess you have already figured
    Sky>E55>Scart board
    mac mini>VGA

Is there much in it quality-wise between the JS box and an E55. The E55 would be a lot more useful!

BTW, is there much difference between an E55 and an E65 apart from playing flash card jpgs and DV input. Both can be done well on a PC anyway so is there anything else that would justify the extra cost?

lip sync can be more of an issue using the DVDR to convert as some have found....but i agree more useful...the E65 is dirt cheap at RS at the moment

Thanks. The lip-sync could be fixed with an AV amp but would the picture be much different quality-wise?

JS will be cleaner, ask Cardiff irons who had an E65 and migrated to JS RGB>YUV and said Q did get a bit better but lip sync was gone....

Ok, thanks for the info. Maybe JS box still the best way to go then if it's a noticeable improvement and not just marginal. I've messaged Cardiff Irons to see what he thinks anyway.
