How to backup a Panasonic DMREX85

Folks

I have a Panasonic DMREX85 going in for Repair
U80 and U40 codes.

I would guess the HDD will get wiped.

Is there a neat way to backup the HDD to a PC or Laptop
The only other way I can see is to Burn the HDD to DVD's which is getting to take for ever and a day.

I'm affraid your only option is to burn DVD's.

No-one has ever sucessfully managed to copy the data from the HDD using a PC the format is totally different.
