How PS3 does 3D

looks like i might have to buy another PS3 for 3D gaming but i can see it giving people headaches if you play for more than an hour, i play my 360 for at lest 4 hours at a time and can see how this would be a problem.

Hopefully as it is doing this by just incorporating additional parts of the HDMI communications protocol, those of us with HDMI amplifiers/receivers sitting between our PS3s and TVs should probably be okay without having to upgrade those as well.

Thats exactly what I wanted to hear. Hopefully my receiver will be able to handle all ok - when I but a £D telly of course!

Thanks for the link.

People watch 3D movies in the cinema for 2-3 hours. And you can always turn it off?

The games give you the option of 2D or 3D. You don't have to play them with the glasses all the time.

I think it'll be an interesting twist, I look forward to seeing where the developers take the technology.

I've just been trying my ps3 with 3D gaming on my VT20 and I've got to say that especially the near 1080p games are crystal with no flicker (24 or 60hz), which I noticed lots of on Sky 3D due to maybe 50hz, lower resolution, bitrate and interlacing. I'm very impressed by both the ps3 and the VT20 in terms of 3D gaming - I've tried nvidia 3d on a 24" 1080p Acer monitor, a 720p projector and now on the VT20 and so far this is by far much clearer than any other combination I've come across.
