This question is aimed mainly at those with stellar collections. How many times do you watch each disc?

I have around 80 discs. I watch approx 20 frequently, 20 I've watched once and will probably never bother with again, and the other 40 or so about once per year.

I also have about 300 VCRs that I've watched less than 10 of in the last 4 years (since I got a DVD player).

I wont buy a DVD unless I know I'm going to watch it more than once.

Having said that some I haven't got around to watching.

I've got 337 discs with about 10 on order. Earlier this week I went throught them and worked out the were over 100 discs that I hadn't actually watched yet. I've seen the films or tv series but not watched the actual disc.

thankfully I've dried up on my purchases so I'm catching up.

some discs (about a dozen) I've watched several times, some only once so far.

some of the discs are seven disc box sets so there is a few hundred hours of watching t go though just say tick one title off the list. Some tv discs have 4 eps per discs.

I have biught some discs that I immediatly flogged ince watching them as they were pants.

the question should really be how often do you NOT watch your dvds for me!!:D
From the 100 or so discs I own I have ten or so that I never get sick of watching and could watch back to back no problem. The others will probably get a viewing twice a year or so.

I bought most of my disliked discs a couple of years ago when we couldn't get a baby sitter.
I purchased based upon recommendations (from friends, mags, and web sites). Some worked for me (The Matrix, Galaxy Quest) and some didn't (There's Something About Mary, Gross Point Blank).

The price of a disc was much less than the cost of going to our local multiplex so I don't regret the money.

I watch some of my films twice a year, others I may only watch once a decade.

Most of my DVDs have only been watched once, with a few exceptions (like Donnie Darko of course :D). I have only owned my DVD player since March/April though, so it's early days yet :)

Crikey, just one for recording the occasional film or TV programme suits me just fine:eek: ;)

There's probably a dozen or so DVDs that get spun every couple of months, 1 that gets watched nearly every weekend at the moment (FOTR EE), and loads that are "mood" movies.

I have a clearout every few months and sell or trade around a dozen discs just so things don't get too out of hand space-wise.

How could you not like Grosse Pointe Blank!

Good luck finding a decent dvd of GPB, both the r2 and r1 are awful. There was 17 mins cut from the film (if you watch the trailer alot of the scenes are not in the film), which isn't on the dvds, pic quality is awful, and the sound has alot of artifacts. Just hoping BV rerelease this one.

Time restricts me greatly - but I have a few regulars that I never tire of (usual suspects, memento, tremors, LOTR, wild things, the frighteners) and those that I never watch, mainly 'cos I bought them when DVD was new and choice was limited (dragonheart springs to mind)

i've managed to halt my addiction to buying dvd's. i've got around 250, and strangely its the expensive box sets that i never watch (x-files all 5 of them - watched about 10 episodes) i've got a load more (about 30) that ive seen but not watched the disk yet if you know what i mean.

Although i've gone into councelling for my addiction to FOTR, i've watched the two disc version 4 times and the extended version another 4 - then i watched it with the commentries on so thats another 4. i'll watch it again the night before the two towers comes out then again before the extended two towers, then i'll watch them all again before i see ROTK. i dont know why but i just cant get bored of seeing it. mt previous record was watching the directors cut of JFK which i've seen 9 times.

god i need help, can anyone tell me what its like to have a life? ha ha

I will definately watch them at least three times as if I have been to cinema for three times. Just to justify the cost.

I hear you about FOTR - I too am experiencing all the signs of a serious addiction to the extended spec. ed. and at the moment to the ROTK at the cinema - on two occasions I have watched the extended dvd of FOTR and the nipped to the movies to watch ROTK straight away!!. Least it keeps me off the streets:)

A lot of my collection is made up of brainless (but good) action movies so they do get watched a couple of times. They are good testers for my home cinema.

Plus there are others like Buffy which I have watched many, many times and some I have only watched once and won't watch ever again.

I will certainly be watching a lot of movies for a couple of weeks after Feb 13th. (Hernia operation!!)

When it comes to DVD buying I am like a kid in a sweet shop - my eyes are bigger than my stomach (i.e. I buy far more than I have time to watch! - I don't actually eat them!!) :D

The only one that I have seen more than twice in recent months is Reign of Fire which I have seen four times. That DTS sound just blows me away
