I want my plasma mounted above a false fireplace.

The wall is 75% hollow (plasterboard), 25% brick. From this point I want the cabling chased about 1 metre through solid brick where I will have my A/V rack. I plan to buy a pioneer with media box, so the cabling should consist of only a VGA lead and power lead.

Any idea what type of cost is reasonable for this type of job? I would want someone to do all the re-plastering/decorating after the install.

Something similar to this for the look:

I know some installers based near epsom - not a million miles away.

They do installs for some large pub chains etc.

drop me a pm if you want and I will get you contact details.

They will come and do a free survey first and price is £300 - unless complications arise on survey.

    cheers

I have had a number of quotes now, the one I am happiest with (not the cheapest) but standard of work/knowledge seems excellent is from a company called bluestreamav - http://www.bluestreamav.co.uk/

I plan to schedule the install soon and will post pics!

Bluestream are very good guys. You'll be fine with them.

I've heard of some £100-£200 installs, but I have then revisited the site a while later on other business to find silver trunking run up walls, or cables dangling and tucked away behind other furniture. £350-£550 will get you a proper hang and chase of all cables, a fused spur run from the mains ring up to behind the plasma, and enough time spare to re-route your Sky TV feed and telephone point to whereever in the room your kit is going to end up (which needn't necessarily be near the plasma for added effect). All you will be left with is sanded down filler where the chase(s) were cut for you to slap a quick layer of paint over in a couple days time. Wallpaper a little trickier, but there are always ways.

Just make sure that all the sanding down and painting is done before you mount the plasma. The dust hangs in the air for days

    Hi

Can you tell me who you used? we live in hampton and are looking to do the smae thing. Was hoping to hang tv on wall and poke the cables through back of the tv into a cupboard which is behind the wall we want to hang tv on. We would then put all the cables and dvd etc in the cupboard to hide the cables.

    Thx

I used www.bluestreamav.co.uk - excellent job, I can 100% recommend them. Several of my friends/relatives have now had a plasma install done too and are really happy with the results.

See my signature for my install pics.

If you do give bluestream a call, please mention you got the details from Kamaran via the avforums.

    Hope that helps.
