Will be putting up the front end of my system for sale.

    I have the following

Pair of black B&W CDM1 Special Editions
B&W CDM C centre Special Edition in black

In top condition but no box, manual or receipt from original purchase. Approx 2 years old.

If I stick them on the classifieds, what should I ask for?

    Urban.

How much did they cost origionally?

Have they got any warrenty left?

Might be able to suggest something once the above has been established.....

What are you thinking of buying with the cash, should you successfully sell 'em?

I just bought some CDM 7SE's for £300 - fair cond. a few scratches, nothing major- in cherry.

I'd expect the CDM 1 se's to go for less, though how much less is difficult. If someone is looking for a decent small speaker, they'd do well to beat these for £300 IMO - though that doesn't mean youll get it!

I *may* be interested in them (all 3 possible, defo the CDM 1 se's). Put this post in the classified with what you want for them, and ill see if i want them then ;)

Cheers for the replies guys :)

TBH, I think you have answered my question. My experience is that speakers don't tend to sell for much on these forums. I think I'm gonna have a bash on Ebay (which I hate) first. Good quality kit that doesn't come up every day like B&W seems to do quite well on there.

Ive recently bought an immaculate pair of CDM 1NT's in cherry from Audio T for £450 if that gives you something to go by.

I think to be honest you were very lucky. I also have a pair of 1NT's which I am planning to sell. All this bits are left over after a mad period of upgrading and changing. They are less than a month old and brand new and would rather keep them than sell them for £450 :)

For what it's worth,UrbanT,I've had nothing but good experiences of eBay,and found it to be a far better way of getting a reasonable price for something than selling via a dealer or secondhand columns....did well for me when I sold a pair of Linn Keltiks.

I also sympathasize with having to sell relatively new gear(having done so myself!),but you may well find the next significant step up from the CDM system quite expensive....I think the price of about £350-450 is about right, given the age....unfortunately!

I'm guessing that they must be something over two years old by now by the way - I bought my first NTs 27 months ago, and there were no non-NTs left in stock. Doubt if this would make much difference to your price on ebay though!

The best thing about Ebay is that you can sell second hand gear for more than the new retail price. Just stick in a nice picture and a good description and they go mental. It's great.

    Doh.

Just out of interest, what are you replacing them with?

    Cheers for the replies :)

To answer the questions, I recently bought these to use as possible rears but thats proved impossible so they have to go straight away!

The 1NT's have been replaced with 7NT's which became available 2nd hand, I couldnt resist so these have to go as well!

The CDM C SE was replaced with a B&W Matrix HTM which, although a later design, works better in the enclosed cabinet which holds it.

House looks like Richer Sounds with all the boxes ;)
