How much of Sky Digital is digital

Hey All,

Bit of an odd question but thought someone here might know. How much of Sky`s digital service is actually digital, ie which parts of the transmission are digital?

Satelite to Dish?
Dish to Receiver?
Receiver to TV?

I guess receiver to TV would depend on the receiver (ie HD) and the interface used (ie HDMI or scart).

Just curious.

The transimssion system is digital from studio to receiver.
Then if you use HDMI it's all digital.

OK, but why does changing the coax cable from dish to receiver affect the signal strength and quality, isnt this behaviour normally associated with an analogue signal?

Signal strength is the level of signal, irrespective of whether it's modulated with analogue or digital.

In the latter case, signal quality is the difference between the high and low digits, ie the 0's and 1's!
