Question How much of an issue is not having bipole speakers flush against the wall?

Active Member
I have a 5.1.2 system in a fairly narrow room with the couch about 1.5 feet from the back wall. I have a pair of bipole speakers behind and about 80 cm to the left and right of the listening position. They are facing forward, roughly opposite the front speakers, but I have had to put them on stands as they have windows and curtains about a foot behind them, preventing me from wall mounting.

I am aware that bipoles are ideally wall mounted, but I was curious as to what the downside, if any, of mounting them on stands might be?
