Hi All,

I am looking to sell my desktop PC and wonder whether someone might be able to help me come up with an estimate of what it's worth. Here are the details:

  • Tsunami BOXG-11 ATX/MicroATX Case
  • ASRock 4Core1333-eSATA2 Motherboard
  • Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Processor
  • 4 GB (2 x 2 GB) Transcend PC2-6400 DDR2 Ram (Model: JM800QLU-2G)
  • 500 GB (2 x 250 GB) Maxtor 7200 RPM Hard Drives
  • ASUS EN860GT Silent HTDP 512 MB Graphics Card
  • LG DVD Burner
  • Windows Home Edition
Is that enough detail to be quoted a rough estimate?

Thanks.

Ebay completed auctions 181-250 +postage, less seller fees. Some of those with 8GB ram, some 1TB HDD. BIN go for a bit more but often languish unsold (go figure). Less on here but lower fees, alternatively sell individually:
•Tsunami BOXG-11 ATX/MicroATX Case £17 new, so £10-12 if good condition
•ASRock 4Core1333-eSATA2 Motherboard P31 board, maybe £30
•Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Processor £65-70 if G0
•4 GB (2 x 2 GB) Transcend PC2-6400 DDR2 Ram (Model: JM800QLU-2G) Generic RAM £35 if lucky
•500 GB (2 x 250 GB) Maxtor 7200 RPM Hard Drives £22 ish (although I never sell old HDDs)
•ASUS EN860GT Silent HTDP 512 MB Graphics Card 8600GT, £13-20
•LG DVD Burner £8
•Windows Home Edition Vista £25, win 7 £65 if retail, boxed, less if OEM
Do you have a PSU?
All with postage on top, based on ebay completed listings or recent AVFORUMS classifieds.

Thanks for the replies so far. A good indication. Just out of interest, is there a specific reason for not selling old hard drives?

Thanks.

V hard to completely destroy data (formatting is not sufficient), even smashing them up with a hammer! There is a trade in second hand disks to steal sensitive data (bank details for example).

Best Free Secure Erase Utility

Gives you some ways to remove hidden date / ompletely erase freespace. For the cost of a new HDD I don't bother (tend to keep my disks until totally obsolete anyway!).

Thanks for the reply.

Yeah I do have a PSU; it's a working machine. Perhaps I should look at selling the individual components.

You could always go for a slightly optimistic buy it now price on Ebay! As long as you know you can deliver at a reasonable cost it's a load less hassle selling it in one box. May be worth picking up someone else's second hand hard disk for 20 quid to install in it :smashin:
