I need to decide whether to repair or simply scrap my old Yamaha A1 - the display has a couple of blobs not working properly - any suggestions for how much I could get for it like this, or even when fully repaired (which will cost £200).

If its just the display you want to replace I think the part is about £26 and is a simple task to fit.

About £400-430 on ebay when fixed. Just sold my old A2 for £300.

Sold my A1 with the dot matrix display fault for £420. Best bet is ebay, you won't get that price on here. (the A1 that I sold for £420 - I bought it off these forums a year ago for £250:D)

This reply is probably a bit late but I had the same problem with my A1 and it turned out to dry joints between the pins on the display and the board.

I took mine to VideoTec in Oxford and they fixed it for £60

    Thanks,

    Chris Nightingale.

Apparently its the matrix display itself so a couple of hundred quid for a replacement.

Haven't got round to putting it on ebay yet, though over the last couple of weeks a few seem to have gone for 400-500 quid, so I guess I might get 350-450 for it.

    Thanks for reminding me!!!
