It depends if MS are prepared to take a bigger loss. Their machine costs a little more to make according to a number of media reports. So to undercut Sony would be bold and doesn’t fully make sense with a series S too. But we will see.
That PS5 is not cheap to build trust me, a totally new controller and user interface, plus that wacky design which is big. And that custom SSD with a totally custom pipeline to support it, that’s going to be very expensive to make.
I firmly believe Microsoft will significantly undercut Sony, they are using ‘for the consumer’ message an awful lot and pricing that’s favourable would play a big part of that.
