Mate's thinking of getting a dslr, likes my 20D but even used it's not what he wants to spend. What's the average price on a 10D these days?

Tried the 300D ect, doesn't want plastic body.

    Cheers

Shame about him not wanting a 300d as there is one for sale in the classifieds here. The 10d still looks to be fetching well over £300 on ebay, without lenses!

I had a brief look at getting a used 10D as a back up - they were going for not much less than a new 350D body. There's still quite a demand for them.
Park cameras seem to have them quite regularly at an ok price - might be worth giving them a ring.

10D bodies still seem to command around £500. Never seen one anywhere near £300 but then I haven't been looking since I bought mine around March. I think I paid around £480 from an Amazon Marketplace seller.

Don't forget that it doesn't take the EF-S lenses so there's more initial expense on glass than with a 20D. You know all about the cost of wide angle zooms.

Why not do him a deal on yours & pick up that 1DsMkII....

    Yeah i could do with a 1ds mk11 and a sailing boat:laugh:

I'll let him buy the 10D, convince him it's turned out to be way too complex for him and give him £200 for it:laugh:

Seany, if your mates interested I have one for sale. I was going to ebay it as they do still seem to fetch decent prices and if you get a few people interested they sometimes start a bidding frenzy ;)
The body has one problem, a large scratch across the top of the pop up flash unit other than that there are two small very faint (and I mean faint) scratches on the TFT screen. Other than that the body is in excellent condition, there is no original box or instructions but I have just ordered the latter from Canon's web site so hopefully I'll have that in a few days. Everything else seems to be there, battery, charger, strap, there is a remote switch (RS-80N3) I will throw in as well and a 1 gb toshiba flash card.
If you can vouch for him Seany I am willing to send the camera off for him to look at and if he doesn't want it he can send it back and I will ebay it. He would have to pay the postage though and promise to look after it while he has it. If he is interested Seany just PM me and I will let you know how much, I'm off out for a couple of hours and I'll check my mail when I get back.
    Cheers,
    oddbodd.

Tell him to get a 350d ,battery grip and start shooting or save up for a 20d!
Seriously, even if he doesnt need the 2 extra megapixel the digic2 chip, good battery life, low noise even at 1600 ISO ( and the aformentioned 2 extra megapixel) for the same cost not to mention warrantee on a newer product make the 10d seem like a not so valuable antique
