Or is this a trick question?
1080 scan lines are needed to show it at native resolution. Was it a trick question?
It probably was mate, but it was a question asked to me by someone else and I wasn't sure of the answer as a standard 625i picture only cosists of 576 lines.
1080i has 540 lines of picture information per field.
The total number of scan lines (i.e. including V sync & Blanking) in a 1080i HD signal is 1125.
There are 1080 lines of image (active picture) in 2 fields of 540 active lines each, the rest is blanking period including V syncs.
I think I get that one.
2 fields of 540 visible lines make up 1 frame of 1080 visible lines, which would be comparable to 1125p which would also show 1080 visible lines?
Separate names with a comma.
