I've got 62 Shines and have been playing for just over a week now - I have been playing it alot though. I've opened all the levels and some of the later ones are truely spectacular. My favourite level so far has been Noki Bay because it has the most diverse tasks involved. I won't be completing the game until I've got all 120 shines though. I've also found some briliant little secret levels in and around Delfino Isle.

52 Shines here - Noki Bay's my favourite so far too,. Great platforming action and I love climbing to the top, looking over seeing the waterfall and loads of sea gulls circling below.

71 shines now after some intensive play tonight. I think I've found the hardest red-coin challenge so far too :(. Check it out on the little island just off Delfino that has the guy with the fire on it.

You need Yoshi to get in and belive me, it's hard enough even getting over there with Yoshi.

Heh yeah I made it there a few days ago and proceeded in vain trying to get all 8. Think 5 or 6 was my best. You can just about backtrack up the river but the leaf breaks up after a while. After all my lives were gone I just couldn't be bothered to take yoshi all the way back. I'll get round to it one day.

TWO LITTLE TIPS FOR BEGINERS BELOW:

    SPOILERS!

    <
    <
    <

    (i) on the main marketplace island once you have the boat going (after about 8 shines), jump on the boat in the middle of the roof. When you go under the bridge do a mario spin (rotate and A) under the gold coin and you will be transported to MARIO PINBALL

(ii) you can get repeat extra lives by swimming under the water round the corner from the bridge. there's a little underwater hole with a mushroom sitting in it.

91 Shines now and counting. All levels completed except for Pianto Village. There is 8 standard shines per level, an extra shine for collecting 100 Gold Coins, and three further secret shines in each level. I know how to get one extra secret shine on each level and have done so. The other two are eluding me but I think Yoshi plays a part in getting them.

Nice going groundy. I still haven't had any time to play since last Wednesday. Damn, that's a week today, so that explains the shakes then.

    Yeah - that's the Pinball mini-game. Great fun ;).

109 Shines - very good indeed.
