we are starting to see a few of us now that have bought a HD20/200x so was curious as to the numbers.

I am interested to see how many already have one and how many intend to get one of the cheapest (at the moment) entry level 1080p machines.

I have one. I had the first comment on how it looks no different to the one it replaced last night (pjtx300). I think it does and even my girlfriend who hates me spending money on AV kit says it looks a lot better than the old one though.

84% is quite a large chunk of people owning/buying the hd20/200x.

although i expected it to be a hit i didnt expect it to monopolise the budget market.

well done optoma.

As someone who is currently obsessed with the idea of buying one of these as soon as I can get clearance from the missus, I'd be quite interested to hear from those who said they'd be buying an alternative budget 1080p - is there any particular reason why you won't be buying this one? Is is just personal preference, have a problem with Optoma in general, or something about the projector (features or lack thereof, etc) that's put you off?

I had bought one but am returning it due to seeing Rainbows through DLP technology, it's the only thing that put me off, otherwise the picture quality is fantastic

Atm, until the BenQ W1000 and Vivitek HD1080D come out, it is really stilll the only one in the UK. Hopefully the BenQ will be out in the next week or so.

Has anyone actually confirmed the line problem is sorted out with new firmware in the UK? I can still force mine to happen but I haven't seen any come up on their own for over 60 hours now.

The BenQ W1000's are now available and the Vivitek's are also but may take 2 -3 days to get into stock.

I would probably go for BenQ if I didn't have a HD200. I read a problem with the vivtek about a pulsing picture problem. Hopefully they sorted that out before the first units got shipped out.

righto im a fully fledged hd200x owner now, and have to say im gobsmacked at the quality.

Got one (200X) on the way also. Should be here tomorrow or the next day. Couldn't resist the price. Ordered it from Currys and after discount and cashback it cost £704:)

Incredible deal:thumbsup: considering that some 720p machines are running almost to £550-£600.

Dear All,

I need some advise on a connection issue, can you please help me or direct me to the correct area/forum as this is my first post.

I have a Pioneer VSX LX70 receiver and I have connected the following using HDMI:
  • Blu Ray Player
  • DVD Player
  • PS3
HDMI out is connected to a HDTV (Panasonic Full HD).

Recently I bought a Optoma HD20 projector. So i removed the HDTV connection and used a new HDMI (high end 10m cable) and connected the Projector through the receiver.

Problem:
The projector is detecting the PS3 & DVD signal through the receiver, but not the Blu Ray Player signal.

Do i need to make any changes to the Receiver or the Projector.

But when I connect the Blu Ray Player directly to the projector, then it works perfectly.

:lease: HELP ME.

Thanks,
Bonnie

Fred, many thanks. I will try the same set up using a shorter cable. By the way, I paid US$ 300 for the 10m cable (Daiyo from Japan)

What i can't understand is when i connect the cable directly to the Blu Ray player it works, but not through the Receiver.
