How many episodes onto DVD-R?

Established Member
Hi Just bought aan E-95

I'm in the process of transferring VHS to DVD-R

1) I'm currently copying episodes of Chicago Hope onto the HDD (+removing
ads) at SP (is this correct?)

2) How many episodes should I fit onto one Dvd-R? Each episode is 40

thanks... I'm trying to learn all the time but struggle with certain parts of the manual.

I have the panny E85 - love it to bits.
I reckon you will get about 4 episodes per dvd-r once you have edited the original adverts out.
Try this way - once you have copied to HDD. take 4 episodes and dubb using FR mode. That way the machine will squeeze every last drop of space to make sure they all fit onto a 4.7GB DVD-R no more and no less. quality should be ok (at least as good as VHS youv'e transferred from. Hope that helps, good luck, and post the results
E ;)

I would dub to the HD using XP, cut out all the crap, then use FR. 4 eps per disc will probably come out fine if its a VHS source originally.
