I'm considering buying an Optimum AV Hi-Fi rack and putting a big Sony Wega on top. If I were to put a centre speaker on the bottom shelf, about 10-15cm off the floor, would it sound odd? The top of the TV would be about 1.7M from the floor, which means it would be a very large gap down to the centre. Could this be improved by angling the centre speaker upwards?

    Thanks.

Yes. It's not ideal but a lot better than having the speaker point at your ankles. :)

I agree with Nobber22 - but could you place it on the shelf above (as you mention the bottom one), or even on top of the TV..??

If I stick it on a higher shelf then other components have to go on the bottom, and I'm not keen on having to crouch to to reach whatever goes down there. It would be ideal if the centre was on the bottom, that would mean all components would be over 40cm off the ground, much easier to reach.
