It will all depend on many things. Most manufacturers quote a figure until the plasma reaches half brightness. These are in the range of 30,000 to 40,000 hours. Like many things that will be an average predicted life as the actual life of one screen is impossible to predict.

Interestingly if you continue to use your plasma at the current rate and the life is 30,000 hours at will last 5.6 years. You have been using it almost 14.6 hours per day.

Cruncher, you'll get 16:9 eyes! The figures are about right, but this is a half life. If you are not running at full brightness and contrast, your screen can be recalibrated and enjoy another lease of life. Most CRT sets would be clapped out under the treatment you are giving yours in a much shorter time frame.

Cruncher75, how did you find out exactly how many hours it has been on?

Hours meter is in the engineers menu. Don't go playing in there, some of it's pretty scary. Instructions in the sticky above. But cruncher, my normal TV is 2-3 hours a day, inc. kids, how the *** do you find the hours to have it on that long?
