    Hi guys

sorry if this is a really thick question (newbie alert!)

but I have been told that Plasma's don't last more than 4-5 years. Is this accurate?

    Thanks again

You should (according to the manufacturers) get around 30 hours, at least 10 years if your careful with contrast and brightness settings

    I take it that'll be 30,000 hours :)

Most manufacturers are now going with 25-30,000 hours to half brightness.

Our friends at Pioneer are also hoping that with a 1000 cd brightness they are going to outlast the competition.

    Best regards

    Joe
