Considering all it will be used for is digital out?

I'm considering the midiman 24/96 with optical out as the coax on the amp is used by the dvd player.
But want to know is it really ness to spend this much on a soundcard?

    Thanks for your help.

It really depends on how much of an audiophile you are. I have the Audiophile 24/96 card, which by the way has no optical output (beware of optical out, my experience has been that it is lesser quality than coax), and although it sounds good (SP/DIF out) I am upgrading to a better (and more expensive) card. That is my chioce but you may not be as demanding when it comes to the sound part.

    Hope this helps,
    Raymond
