Hi all, I'm not new to the forums but this is my first post.

I have bought a Pioneer 436XDE and the instructions for the media box say that I should leave 100mm at the back for cooling. The space I have to fit it into is very tight so my question is, do I have to make room for the 100mm, or is it okay to have less space? I'm not running speakers from the media box and I will have a separate Sky + box.

On the Sky + box side of things, does this box effectively make the media box redundant? Or do I need both?

Many thanks in advance for any answers!

    Cheers,

    Ted

Never noticed it hot at all. I had a DVD player sitting next to it, should be fine! (they are just covering their butts).

Sitting something ontop of it probably is a no-no though.

You have to have the media box - think of it effectively as the back of your normal TV

Thanks very much for the replies - I would not be putting anything on top of it, but is there a fan at the back which needs some space?

I don't suppose you could quantify exactly how much space minimum you would need at the back of the media box?

    Thanks again.

Hi Ted,I have the 435XDE media box on the glass stand with nothing next to it and the fan works most of the time, the unit does not appear to be hot and the noise is less than the fan from my laptop.
I think you will need some space behind but i`m afraid its trial and error.

keep a bit of room at the back (5 inches or so) and then plenty above and it will be fine :)
