What an episode! A stunning return to form for the show. Just a great shame that they had to wait until the last episode of the series to produce such an absolute cracker!

    Brilliant stuff! :)

They always seem to pull it out of the bag for the 'season finale'. For what's been a bit of a hit/miss series, I'm still sort of looking forward to it being back next year. The new blood might freshen it up a little and give the script writers some new angles to play with. I think we'll see the new face from last night become a regular too.

I just wish I hadn't seen the 'spoiler' last week. Ok give us something to wet our appetite for the next show, but it would have been even better if they hadn't shown certain sequences in that clip.

Looking forward to Hustle now. Let's hope the beeb get back to producing more fantastic drama. I'm sick and tired of all that public voting nonsense, though I'll admit ITV are a much bigger culprit.

    It was complete garbage.
The whole plot was seriously flawed, mobile phones can be tracked to within 10 metres when switched on. Logs of their position are kept for over a year.

I thought it was excellent as well.

Definitely the best episode of the series, and a real emotional
    rollercoaster.

You've gotta remember its produced as entertainment first and foremost, and allow them the odd bit of poetic license.

Look forward to it returning next year, as its about the only thing on the BBC worth watching.

    Ian.

pjclark1 - you must really dislike most things on the TV or at the cinema if you look for total accuracy and trueness to real life.

It's only entertainment - not the news!

What makes you think the news is not only entertainment?

I also object to a drama series being used to spout blatent anti-arab propaganda. There has never been any Iraqi terrorists discovered in the UK or US despite the continuing war crimes being committed in Iraq by the UK and US forces. It is our people who are the war hungry murderers, war criminals and terrorists, not the arabs.

Then don't watch it and don't post inflammatory comments on something as trivial as a discussion over a popular entertainment show. Go on a march or something.

Back to Spooks: Really enjoyed last nights - compare that to the exciting adventures on the North Sea ferry a few weeks earlier !

In case any fans don't know - you can get the Series 1 DVD for about 12 quid now - absolute bargain.

Oh and I also switch off the minute they start showing the clips for next week - what a stupid idea !

Whilst I wouldn't totally agree with the sentiments expressed above, I personally found it thought-provoking as to the consequences and impact of our government's actions in the Middle East.

That the one with the frying lesson

It is also annoying as they cut the end credits and you want to see who the guest actors were.

One of the most complained about scenes ever was that...

Now this is in it's off season, does that mean Hustle's back on soon (same creators)

I was just responding to your comment on the less than factual usage of mobile phone tracking - get a grip.

I don't think that the Spooks episode was anti arab propaganda - I think that it was an entertaining show that does not make any intelligent person either like or dislike arabs more or less.

BTW - I generally do not find the news to be entertainment. Informative yes, heart-wrenchingly depressing at times yes, occasionally uplifting yes, but entertainment - no.

Yep, after some very bad episodes....like the Andy Serkis rock star one (??!!!), this was a right return to form.

Very tense and some nice sequences. I don't expect 100% accuracy to actual MI5 methods, tracking techniques and security measures (go on mate, let this bird into the PM's dinner....you know you want to!) but it's still very entertaining.

Second series of Hustle is lined up for 2005, though no firm dates yet according to the bbc website. Series one out on dvd soon.

I've added series one and two of Spooks to my online dvd rental queue, now it's been a while since I've seen them and my memory's not what it used to be. It'll almost be like watching them for the first time :)

Had a look on the BBC website http://www.bbc.co.uk/drama/spooks/ but couldn't see that it's due to be broadcast again at the moment. I'd keep having a look at it from time to time.

Alternatively, if you're anywhere near Hull at some point I've got it on Sky+ and you're welcome to pop round to watch it! :)

Definitely...you could have an agreeable meal at Mr Chu China Palace...worth the trip alone...(I am aware that the thread has been completely hijacked but alas this topic is more interesting than Spooks)...

i wish sky put in a 'are you sure you want to delete it, Y/N' option, as i was very sleep, watch half of it, and then press the yellow delete button by mistake!.

I dont use the keep button, as when i watch i delete after, but this one time, my trigger finger got to the yellow button before my brain thought about it!.

    So only saw 30mins.

Very disappointed in you. Encouraging people to visit Mr Chu's when the delights of Yankee Burger could tempt them instead!

Bit behind in watching some sky+ stuff so only just got round to watching this :D but have to agree that it was definitely the best of the series. I now wish it wasn't the end of the series, whereas there was a point where I wouldn't have been bothered if the series link had been lost and I'd missed a couple of episodes....

As for the anti iraq propoganda/inaccurate methods - who cares?? Its not a factual programme, its drama. Its meant to entertain not teach. Some programmes may do both but I don't think that people watch this with a view to learning about MI5 techniques or politics do they?

Too true, mate. They could've cut out several episodes and I wouldn't have missed 'em. Still they can start afresh with the new cast next series.

Let's just hope that Harry doesn't get that job and leave too! Had enough changes. Although (as I keep saying) Adam's wife is rather splendid!
