Have a Pioneer 2011 - and a Loewe Vitros connected to a Toshiba SD-9500 with QED interconnects. (component - scart (Loewes are weird - component via scart)

anyway - only one component in, and XBOX 360 on the way.

If I connect Toshiba DVD player - 2011 via component to component

XBOX 360 component to component on 2011

and then 2011 > TV via Component to Scart

How much degradation do you get by the internal video switching in the amp ?

I don't want to decrease my superb DVD performance, hence why wondering whether to go this route, or just S-Video from XBOX.

    thanks, Mark.

Have I got this right- you connect the dvd and xbox to the amp using component and then connect to the TV using a SCART? Can the SCART on the amp be set to component or is it RGB?

sorry my post was a bit misleading

My Loewe TV takes RGB or Component on one of its Scarts, QED produce a special component to component Scart cable

So at the moment the DVD is connected via scart with this cable

Would like to use the XBOX 360 in component, but as I only have one Component input on TV I would have to "switch"

    so

    DVD Player ...Component ...........
    ..
    Pioneer 2011 .... Component ... Scart
    ..
    XBOX 360 .... Component ..........

Just wondering how much quality I'll lose connecting the DVD player through the Amp's internal switches

    cheers, Mark.

Gotcha. I would say not much - but the only way to be sure is try it. If you think the Xbox loses the most (after testing) you could always connect the DVD to the 2011 and the xbox direct to your TV.
