    Hi,

I have a 15ft x 13ft living room, 42" Toshiba rear projection in one corner. I'm thinking about putting in a Sony DAV500ZF (or possibly the Denon D500 - depends on price).

How far away I can put my rear speakers, I'd prefer to have them against the opposite wall so I can hide the cables under the carpet. Will this negate the effect of the surround sound, should they be positioned just behind the listening position?

Also, I was to spring the extra for the Denon, what speaker stands do people recommend.

    Any opinions?

    Andrew
