How does the Bose SoundLink AE II compare to the old AEII for sound quality?

Hello everyone!

For the past few years, I've been using the Bose AEII headphones and have been extremely happy with them. I generally don't like Bose products because they are not very neutral sounding, but the AEIIs sound pretty neutral in comparison to most of their other headphones. I know there are better sounding pairs for lower, but the comfort of them when worn for extended periods + the the mostly neutral sound with reasonably tight bass is what made me decide to go for them.

I'm now looking to get the new wireless pair for the convenience of being able to cut the cord. I went to the store to try them briefly, and noticed that the bass was a lot more present. I couldn't really tell if it was overpowering though, since the mids and highs seemed to still come through pretty nicely. But the store was noisy and I did not get a chance to really test well.

I was wondering if anyone here has an opinion of the sound quality especially when compared to the AEII?

Opinions would be much appreciated!

Thank you!
