    Hi all,

Have a new Sony KD-28DX51 TV with integrated freeview, all set-up correctly - terrific. Linked via scart and looped through aerial (again correctly to instructions) to Sony SLV-D950 VCR/DVD player.

Videoing analogue no problem and the VCR setup the 5 analogue channels fine, all auto - didn't have to interfere. Playback fine too, as soon as you turn the VCR on, the TV senses it from the scart and displays the menus or playback - all fine and normal there...

However I can't find out how to video from the TVs digital source. (as all the literature boasts) The VCR has 3 line channels, Line 1, Line 2 and Line 3 - however when leaving the TV on a digital channel, switching on the VCR and looking at the line channels from the VCR, they are all black - so no signal getting through via those.

There is nothing in either tv or video instruction booklet about how to video from the digital tv, except setting the EPG timer to come on - that's all fine, understand that, just can't get a signal to the VCR to record from! Is there a channel I should tune the VCR into for the digital TV pickup or should it be one of the line channels?

    Help - TIA!

Try using the scart connections as follows - AV2 on the TV to Line 3 on the VCR.

Put telly on to Video channel (AV2) and press Input select button on the VCR remote until line three appears.

Well explored a bit more thanks to your tips! Plugged the VCR inthe lower scart on the TV - which is against the instructions... but now it all works, the digital TV signal appears on Line 1 on the VCR so can be recorded!

Now testing the timer - set it with the EPG, and set the video to come on at same time on Line 1 - then put the TV into standby - but nothing happened, except the video recording 30mins of black, so again contary to the instructions not quiet as it seems, no doubt the TV must have to be on... never mind better than before and DVD and Video work as normal on the other scart!
