How do you sign out of Windows Live Messenger?

Turn off the notifications in the Settings menu and make sure the app is closed in the multitasking bar.

Go into the Social tab, scroll up the top, click on your picture and a wee menu scrolls out sideways - the option is on the end. Took me ages to find it lol

Double click the home button, press and hold on the icon and then press the 'x'

When you exit the app I think it relies only on push notifications so it will not really be draining your battery.
