    Hi all

I would like to use my new HTPC as a video processor and wanted to know what is required to improve the quality of stored video files and DVDs played on the HTPC's DVD Player. I am using MCE2005.

    Thanks a lot

Well, a combination of hardware and software,
Things that may help within MCE:

    Good quality graphics card
Nvidia PureVideo post processing available on Geforce 6 GPU's is supposed to be good (not got mine yet)
The dvd codec you are using (Nvidia DVD is good)
If the video files are encoded in other codecs (divx/xvid) the decoder you are using
The quality of the connection to your display device (cable and type of connection)
    The screen resolution

Things that may help if you play files outside of MCE
Theatertek and ffdshow (there are many threads about this if you search the forum)

If you post more specific details of your set-up then you may got more help
