How do you correct this streaming problem with your AV system ?

The signal from our cable TV box is connected via HDMI cable to our Denon AVR-1612 surround sound receiver that is connected to the HDMI ARC port of our TCL 6-series (model #65R615) television. The TV has a built-in Roku box. TV programs aired via Spectrum sound good on our speakers. So do DVDs and media played through apps on our Sony S-6700 Blue-Ray player that's connected via HDMI cable to the receiver.

We're having problems with the audio portion of content played through the apps on our TV's built-in Roku box. When we play content from the HBO-Max app and Netflix apps on Roku, the sound coming through our speakers is "garble"--undistinguashable sounds. The only way we can hear the audio of Netflix is to

a - as a work-around, use the Netflix app on our Blue-Ray player(HBO-Max isn't available on our Blue-Ray player) or
b - turn off the AV receiver and listen to the content through the TVs built-in speakers.

I've just updated the software on our Roku system and the Blue-Ray player, but it didn't resolve the issue. Do you have any idea what can be causing our inability to hear the audio portion of content derived from the Roku app and/or how to rectify it?

Thanks in advance.
