how do you convert MPEG-4 to MP3 ?

    I've got some MPEG 4 music files that my Roku won't recognise - isthere any freeware out there that will convert MPEG4 to MP3 ?

    MPEG 4 music files???

    as in WMA or AAC?

    if so search google for 'free wma AAC to mp3 converter', should be loads...

    I need to convert from .m4a to .mp3 format - lots of shareware which I need to buy but can't find any freeware - do you know of any ?

    Surely iTunes can do this for you ?

    how could I use itunes to do this - I don't want to have to burn everything out to CD and then import it back again as MP3 :

    In iTunes there is an option to set how you import music, so you can set this to MP3 and the bitrate you want. Then you can highlight the whole lot of your music and click on advanced and then there should be a menu option "Convert selection to MP3". This will make a copy of all your track in MP3 format.

    Thanks for this - just what I needed as my Pure Avanti Flow can't cope with Apple lossless
