    hi
can anyone help me and ask me how do play.com find lost orders in the post and what happens if they don't find it. Does that mean that i have lost my money or do they send out replacements straight away from you notifing them of your lost order. How long does it take to sort out, anyone who has had a problem please let me know how you got on.

Had a disc go missing on 18/7, having waited the 10 day period, the replacement disc was dispatched the same day free of charge.

Hope this put your mind at rest.

    Regards,

    Blloyd

Sometimes they send registered, sometimes they don't. I've never had a disk go missing yet, but changed my delivery address to where I work because I kept missing the postman in the mornings at my old house and so the registered disks went back to the post office.

Since I changed my delivery address to my workplace they haven't sent out anything registered

Yes they are very good at sending out replacements, the 2 times its happened to me (in over 100 orders) I waited around 2 weeks phoned and they sent out replacements no problems.

However from previous postings someone said that if replacement fails to arrive they will black list you as they consider you have an insecure address as someone in Royal Mail, or at your location is stealing them.

I odered ST Generations from them about 2 years ago, it went missing, so I contacted the post office and play, the post office had no trace for it even though I gave them the recorded delivery number, so they refunded me the £16, and then play sent me a free copy, so I got it for free in the end. :D

I work for a mail order company and how it works is that we charge the Post Office a percentage of the value of the parcel if it goes astray, peanuts really, however over the course of a year it adds up significantly (know wonder their in so much trouble), anyway its in their interest to not "misplace" them, if the parcel is found it is returned to us, in theory :)

just to clear things up it's not the post office's fault about missing disc's, they don't deliver the post it's the mail company. since they where split up into groups thats when the mail delivering went down hill

    Hi Pete
When I mentioned the Post Office I meant the service as a whole,
Parcelforce, Consignia whatever you want to call it.
As it is we've now dropped them and taken up with another well known highstreet carrier.

And I couldn't agree more with you Pete, its the same with any organisation, its the little people who make it work, Me/You and especially the customers because without them there is simply no business.
However, we simply try and put into practice what managment dictate, we implement their idea's and strategies but if the idea's and leadership are flawed then it simply isn't going to work no matter how hard we ourselves are trying!!
I really do hope the "Post Office" turns the corner, they've looked after our interests for along time but with the private sector becoming ever more competitive then I think they need to look carefully at cutting out the dead wood "current management" and starting a new.

    All the best

    Si
