I have a Hitachi 42PD7200, which is about 12 years old. It still works great. I am in the process of moving house and thinking of getting rid of it (one recently sold for £40 on ebay), but wondering, will I regret it? I have a 55 inch LG 4k screen, and a 29 inch LF HD screen, so unlikely to need a 3rd TV any time soon. But, if I did get one (it'll be for the kids to play xbox etc in a playroom) it would be cheap, e.g. a 32 inch Blaupunkt from Tesco for £149.00.

So, I was just wondering, in terms of picture quality alone, how do these compare? Would the new cheap one look just as good, or even better, than the ancient £2000 one?
