    Hi all,
what do I need to record a digital program, but to watch another at the same time?

If I have a television with an integral digital tuner, do I also need a recorder, that has a digital tuner to be able to record fom one digital channel and watch another?

    GunZenBomZ,
I do not have either a digital tv, or a DVD recorder, and so have no manual to read. I needed to know the information so I knew what to buy.

Your remark was childish, thoughtless and and offensive, and I would like an apology.

    Hi Verity

Take no notice of him, we all have to start somewhere.

You can get PVRs (personal video recorders) with twin digital tuners. My advice would be to visit you local independant electrical store (not Comet or Currys) for some advice on what is available. These are usually Euronics centres. My local one is very helpful and allows a free home trial of anything I buy before I buy it.

Also Humax have LCD TVs with twin tuners and a hard drive built-in, so you don't even need an external box.

    Hope this helps.

    Paul

PS I think you have posted in the wrong section so a mediator may move it.

I'm afraid that he can't apologize as I've just banned him. AV Forums tries hard to cultivate a friendly forum and we don't have time for offensive idiots like him.

Nice one as that was a really unfriendly reply and there was no need for it.

    Most PVRs do.

The Samsung SH855 is a DVD Recorder (DVDR)...it is not a PVR.
