I have a new Sky+ box but the problem is that I have only one lead coming to the Sky+ box from the dish (bc only one available from the communal dish on top of my bldg)
This is normally not a problem except when I set timed recordings the box keeps trying to record using the other unused tuner. How do I force it to become a single tuner box? I keep getting some failed recordings. It seems very random how it picks which tuner will record.

    Thanks

There are devices called multiswitches (screw fix sell them). They would normally be used with 5 inputs from a quad LNB and your terrestial aerial and a choice of 8 or 12 or more outputs. The inputs are then multiplexed onto the outputs to allow you to run many satellites receivers from one dish along with your aerial to any room. One lead can be connected to a double face plate for both aerial and satellite, but you would need two cables for Sky+ (but then could also have two aerial feeds as well).

I have never used one although am looking to later in the summer, but guess it would do what you need.

Apparently you have to set up a "dummy recording" .

    Have a look here..
