how do i tune an ntl digibox.

my brothers just moved in to a new house, needs to retune his ntl box, is it basically straightforward...cheers.

If it's an NTL cable box and the new abode has an NTL cable connection it should be easy.
Cable TV is 2 way - there is the downstream channel (AKA Forward Path) carrying the programs on one set of frequencies (with QAM modulation) ; then there is the upstream channel (AKA Return Path, with QPSK modulation) on a different (lower) frequency.
Once connected and powered up with its viewing card inserted the box should be recognised and automagically configure itself. This may take a few minutes - hopefully with an on screen warning whilst this happens.
