    HI

I would like to store movies on 2 large HD's in my HCPC.
I know your'e not supposed to do this, but I own the DVD's anyway so it's nothing FACT should be worried about.
What is the easiest software for this and how many movies could I cram on a 160gig HD?

    Many thanks

    Chris

You are not allowed to store movies on your HD.

But... use DVDshrink and you could get about 35 films (uncompressed) onto a 160gb HD.

DVDshrink will allow you to get rid of trailers/adverts and other language tracks. So all you get is the movie.

    DVD decrypter works very quickly....
    BUT.....
I can't play the file back smoothly?
It jerks about, skips great chunks etc.
    I have a decent setup

    80gig HD Maxtor 7200
    Athlon 2600 XP
    Win XP
    512mb ram
    Geforce 3 graphics card

    Any idea's?

    Do you want help?

You must tell people what you are using for playback.

And what settings you used for DVDdecrypter.

Having never used DVDdecrypter I cant help you with that one.

I found DVDshrink so easy that I havent bothered with anything else.

DVDdecrypter just simply saved the info and VOB files to my HD.
I used powerDVD to play back as per Spectre's recommendation.
I can't give much more info than that.
I will have a go at DVD shrink to see if there are any improvements.

    Cheers

    Chris

    Discovered it was powerDVD.
It is totally knackered!! It no longer plays any of my discs??
Error code 80040216 cannot find file??
Anyway I will try a new fresh install and see how that goes.
