Hi,
I have bought an acer 8920 laptop, with 5.1 surround sound built in.
Now I want to connect this up to a set of surround speakers (yet to buy) but the trouble is... every speaker system i look at has 3 x3.5mm jacks for connections and I only have one (acer tell me that this output can then decode the signal to tell which sound to goto where.) but I also have an optical cable output (3.5mm jack) and also an Hdmi slot.
Is there such a thing as an adapter that i could use?? and if so what would be its name?
Can anyone tell me how I would go about connecting these up and what would be the best (and cheapeest) to connect to that support dobly surround sound sound. my budget would be around £100-200.
Look forward to your advice
Tim
