How do I remove miui from desire please?

Hi all,

Ive recently bought a HTC Desire and it has the Miui rom on it.

How do I deinstall this?

It is an orange phone and has been debranded.

You either need to run a RUU utility from your pc to turn your phone back to standard or flash another custom Rom - there are ones that are pretty much standard and may be an easier route. Do some research on them first - the xda developers site is a mine of information.

Also read up especially on Orange. I seem to remember their phones can be especially troublesome to return to standard.

Why do you want to change? Is it just miui you don't like or do you want an unrooted phone?

I think Ill try it out for a week or so but a fellah is send me a link he used in regards to rooting the phone.

Good call. Miui is very different to other roms, kind of iPhone like in certain ways. I think you're lucky in buying a rooted phone - all the great benefits of rooting with no work or risk!

For info on alternative roms try xda or Phandroid for a more newbie friendly experience. Phandroid/Android forums has a helpful Desire & rooting sub-forum.
