Hi Guys

Well I wall mounted a 32" LCD last year and now need to move it, only problem is that I used 2 rawl bolts! Is there any way of removing these, I heard somewhere that if you put the bolt on the end and whack the bolt a couple of times with a hammer it can release??

any suggestions

regards

I can't answer this because I'm not sure exactly what you used.
Can you give a link showing a pic?

The Rawlbolts that I'm thinking of just need to be unscrewed

Ah, I see :smashin:

Well, same applies then.
Just beat the crap out of it, so it sinks into the wall.
You don't need to remove them, just make sure they're sunk.

Can I do it? I love it when I get one wrong at work

Yes you might find if you wind the bolt in a few turns and whack the end of the bolt it will release the rawl bolt enough to wiggle it out.

Yes that might work :smashin:
You're obviously a bit more subtle than me though.
If my first hammer doesn't work, I get a bigger one out  :rotfl:

Thanks for all the replies, well I gave one of the bolts a but of hurt yesterday, but wasn't getting anywhere, also I didnt want to pummel it in to the wall as its a partition.

Anyway went down this morning and my wall had collapsed - only kidding - but I tried that bolt and managed to wiggle the bolt and sleeve out, I then did the same with the other just patiently pushing and pulling on the end of the bolt slowly allowed the sleeve to creep forward and then it came loose! Hurrah, no need to get bolt cutters or a metal saw.

Kindest regards

Wrong type of bolt for a partition wall
