How do i register my PS3 for 1 year warranty?

Does registering on ps3registration.com mean that the warranty is registered, or is there another method of registering the PS3 for 12 months warranty?

    Thx for ur time

i noticed you purchased your ps3 with choicesuk - i did too! :D

i registered on ps3registration.com and i'm pretty sure that registering the serial number and date of purchase on that site will entitle me to my 12 month warranty providing i know the date of purchase and have a copy of my invoice from chices uk at hand. Other members can prob put me right here if i'm wrong

I didnt receive a warranty card with mine even though the manual and other documents were brand new and sealed.

Thx for the reply :) I did purchase from Choices Uk and was looking for the "warranty card" but couldnt find it but found the other booklets and leaflets in a still sealed plastic bag with one saying Register at ps3registration.com to receive updates etc. I hope this was the warranty card as when i registered the console on the site it went through ok with no mention of it already being registered.

You do not need to register for PS3 at all. Your one year warranty is valid from the date you purchased the PS3.

Sony know when you bought the console from the serial number.

The only thing you get by registering now, it seems, are emails from Sony.

I got my PS3 for free from AOL so I didn't get a receipt as such it's all just part of a month package I pay for my Broadband. Do I still get the 1 year warranty?

I can't remember the date it arrived now (early March I think).

I have registered for PSN if that makes any difference??

    Thanks, Chris.

No, Sony know when it was manufactured from the serial number. Unless they have some sort of time machine to let them see when you're going to buy it how could they possibly know ;)

Don't do anything other than keep the receipt, it as a 1 year warranty from where ever you bought it, it's the law.
Depending how far you want to push it, any time with in that period, you can walk back into that shop and demand your money back or a replacement.

Yes, you are still entitled to a one year manufacturers warranty. Were anything to go wrong, you would just need to contact Sony, let them know your serial number and if it is still in warranty, they will arrange for a replacement to be sent to you and at the same time have your old console picked up.
