How do I record data code from my Sony DCR-TRV22 ?

To my PC, for burning to DVD ?
Can it be done, (the date & time at least, dont think the timecode can be done)
Ive tried USB & Firewire, but can only get the video & audio without the data code on the PC.

Programs Ive got are the Imagemixer that came with the Sony Camcorder, and is god-awfull, and Sonic Record Now, as supplied by Dell.

very few of the low end or free editing suites allow this, some of the very expensive ones might. but Why ? do you want it ? if it's for security or legal purposes you should activate the option in your camcorder to record time and date on the film permanently, if you just want to show it in you video for reference then add it as a title or sub-title.
