* Device model: Blackberry 8830
* Mobile service provider: Sprint
* Mobile OS and version: BB 4.2
* Mobile Browser: 4.2.2
* Gmail: 2.0.5
* Country:UK and US
* Issue Summary:

I have installed the Gmail App as well as the Google Mobile App onto
my Blackberry. Both of these seem to function perfectly.

There is no BES service on the device and if I go to the generic
"Messages" application supplied with the Blackberry, the only messages
I see there are SMS text messages at present.

On my other device - a corporate Blackberry Curve that does have BES
service, I remember once installing a Google mail app that gave me the
option of managing my Gmail messages inside of the generic Blackberry
"Messages" app. This had the effect of causing my Gmail messages to
co-mingle with my corporate BES-delivered emails in the "Messages"
app.

I would like to have my Gmail messages appear in and be managed from
the generic Blackberry Messages app (as I described above). Does
anyone know how to do that on my 8830?

Thanks!

The only way i have ever seen this working as you describe was without any gmail app, just a service book for gmail set up thru a vodafone website.

If you did use a google application, then search the help section on the google app site.
