How do I get surround sound??

Hi, I am have just bought a Toshiba HD-EP30 HD DVD player to go with my Samsung 1080p TV. I am new to all this and am wondering how best and within a reasonable budget, say £200 to get surround sound. All of the packages seem to include DVD players already and obviously I don't need another one.
Any advice would be much appreciated

You really want a seperate amp / receiver and a 5.1 speaker package, however you'll struggle to get that for £200. Some all in one surround packages may help, but your best looking in the dedicated forum on here for advice on all-in-one surround sound kit.

You might get the best bang for you money, by getting kit in the trading forums, although you'll still struggle for £200.

Perhaps, save your money for now, and start learning what you need / want, I'd suggest you'll want to spend more like £500 at least TBH..

As you have the EP30, you really want an amp that will accept audio (PCM) via HDMI, so you might, if your lucky get that for £200 then a 5.1 speaker package again for about £300 if your lucky, but if you want the sound to match the image, quality wise I'd suggest you want something that is probably gonna cost at least £1K.. As many say 50% of a movie is the audio... how much have you spent on the player and screen...

A store like Richer Sounds (-visit a store when they aren't busy - avoid Saturdays or look online.) tends to do AV amps for about £100 and slightly under. After that you need a 5 speaker system and again a store like Richer Sounds can do it. If you were buying both together from them they might do a deal and throw in the cables etc.

However note you will not get HD sound for £200. You will get DD/DTS/Prologic surround sound though. Also the speakers will be a step up from your TV speakers.
