Have recently installed diy sky which works OK except that I find the picture height and width too large, by over an inch horizontally and probably a little under an inch vertically.
I have fiddled around with the format control on digibox and tv set with no success whatsoever.
    My set up is:
    1) Digibox Pace DS430N
    2) Video recorder Thomson VTH 7090U
    3) TV 28" widescreen Ferguson W7023U
I have connected the three items according to the Pace instructions.

Any advice/comments would be greatly appreciated.

    Note:
To compare picture sizes I have switched from Sky transmission to same channel on local land transmitter

Go to the Services menu under picture settings and select 16:9.

On the TV, select 16:9 or widescreen.

Most terrestrial TV is 15:9 so you should see black bars top & bottom on that.

Some modern TV's have a number of different picture sizes to choose from.My Toshiba for example can be switched between 4:3,14:9,wide,subtitles,cinema and auto. Some remotes have a button on them so you can switch anytime, others require you to use the picture settings menu on the set.
