    Hi guys,

I wonder if any of you bods out there can help a no knowledgeable chap such as myself about online gaming. I want to get my PS2 online. I have the network adaptor and ethernet cable and thats it. I am not yet connected to the internet. But I am looking to get broadband at the same time as online gaming. What hardware will I need and what speed/spec will do the job well? Will I need a specialised modem that takes in Ethernet cables and P.C. broadband cables at the same time. And is there anyway of doing this wirelessly.

Any help will be much appreciated,

Help me A.V. forum your my only hope

    Hi jameswright ! :hiya:

If you going to connect your PS2 & your PC up to the same broadband connection, you have several options...

Read through this site which will give you all your available options, and will assist you should you have any problems:-

    http://ps2.paradise.net.nz/online/index.cfm

Wireless is an option and a relatively straight forward one - abeit a more expensive one....

I myself have my PC & PS2 connected to a Thompson Speedtouch (Alcatel) 530 which allows me to play whilst the missus surfs at the same time, see here for their range :-

    http://www.speedtouch.co.uk/broadband.asp?menuCurrPos=2.

As both bits of kit are in the same room, wireless wasn't neccessary for me when a £10 CAT5 cable done the job.

    Good luck ! :smashin:

do you need to pay an online fee with the PS2 like you do with Xbox live i.e 20-40 quid per yr for xbox live

NetPlay for the PS2 is free, but as with most things in life you get what you pay for!

Is there a reason a lot of places no longer sell the ethernet adaptor? Is something new coming out? Does anyone have a link for where to get one that is in stock?
