My DVD-rom and Writer drives do not auto start when I insert a disc.
I have to manually go to My Computer to access them.

Can anyone help with activating auto start? I have looked but cannot see where to enable them.

    Thanks

    Is this XP? If so:

    1. Go to My Computer
    2. Right click on the DVD drive
    3. Click Properties
    4. Go to the Autoplay tab
    5. Drop down the combo box and select "DVD Movie"
    6. Select the program from the list you want to auto-start (ensure the "Select an action to perform" option is set to unlock the program list).

Click OK all the way out, now inserting a DVD should start the program you selected.

    Yes I use XP.
I actually wanted the drives to auto start up all discs not just dvd movies.

    Thanks

Well follow those instructions and repeat steps 5 and 6 for each type of DVD content in turn :) .. Windows has to know what to do with the various content it can find on a DVD that it can find on a DVD, there's no "one size fits all" approach to it I'm afraid.
